We at Pediatric Associates of Kingston are very proud of our comprehensive lactation program available to both new breastfeeding mothers, as well as those at any stage of the lactation process.

This service is provided by Kathleen Lloyd, LPN, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and listed with the National and International Registries as a Registered Lactation Consultant.

An IBCLC is identified as a member of the healthcare team possessing specialized skills and knowledge in lactation management; and is qualified to provide skilled technical breastfeeding assistance to mothers and babies who may or may not be experiencing breastfeeding problems.

Kathleen is available to provide the following:

Prenatal consultations.
Post-delivery hospital visits.
Private consultations.
In-office weight checks and breast care instruction.
Phone consultations for questions or problems.
Guidance in pumping, storage and handling of breast milk.
Management of preterm infants and special needs babies.

In addition, Pediatric Associates offers a full array of breastfeeding accessories, along with Billow Pillows, nursing bras and is an authorized Medela pump sales and rental station.

Kathleen looks forward to working with you and your baby to assist and enhance the breastfeeding experience, from birth through the weaning process; and is available for consults with mothers from outside practices as well.

CROUP COUGH
The croupy cough is tight, low-pitched, and barky (like a barking seal). Homecare- If the air is dry, run a humidifier in the bedroom. (Reason: dry air makes croup worse.)
